To satisfy the sweet tooth of my kids, I planned to make one simple dessert which doesn’t make me stay in the kitchen for half the day. The pudding style foods lie in the category which won’t need much time to make. So I planned to make a Boba custard pudding with the available ingredients. To make the Boba custard pudding recipe easier most of the ingredients are store-bought pantry food.
I used the homemade boba pearls made with brown sugar to top the custard. Steaming is the cooking process I used. The recipe can be baked as well. The boba pearls contain brown sugar.
Red ruby milk pudding– Low-fat version of a Thai dessert. Water chestnut is the main ingredient which gives the crunchiness to the dessert.
Sweet milk wonton– Store-bought wonton wraps used to make a dessert with Bengal gram and milk. Kids will love this recipe.
Pina Colada Pudding– A vegetarian pudding recipe without alcohol and gelatin. The pineapple and coconut milk combo works wonders.
Mango Sago– Simple mango dessert with fewer steps and ingredients. Wonderful dessert for the unexpected guests.
Air fryer tapioca cake– Malay traditional kueh made using fresh cassava/tapioca root. This recipe is made in Air fryer to make the process easier.
Boba Custard Pudding

- 1 cup Yoghurt
- 1 cup Condensed milk
- ½ cup Boba pearls
- Add condensed milk in a mixing bowl.
- Add milk and stir well.
- Add yoghurt to the bowl.
- Add custard powder. Use an electric hand blender to give a nice mix.
- Make sure to break the lumps if any lumps formed.
- Pour the mixture into the desired moulds.
- Tightly cover the moulds using the aluminium foil to avoid water from dripping into the custard.
- Cover the steamer. And cook for 30 minutes.
- Unmould the custard.
- Decorate the boba pearls on top of the custard.
- Serve chilled.
Thick yoghurt works well. If the yoghurt has any water strain the water.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I did. Try it out and leave a comment on how it went. Any feedback is appreciated
